The Route

Check out the live map to see where we are currently. Our inReach Tracker pings a satellite every ten minutes.

This is the plan as of now. It will be interesting to see how things change.

We are going from SF, CA to Anchorage, AK, via the town of Inuvik, the northernmost town in the Yukon in Canada, eh? From Anchorage we are heading back through Haines, AK, where we are catching a ferry to Prince Rupert, BC, then down through the US again, hopefully catching Idaho, Utah, some state parks and maybe Sedona, Arizona before we shoot back west to Los Angeles.

We are then riding down the Baja peninsula and taking another ferry from La Paz to the mainland of Mexico where we will drink a lot of Tequila and Mezcal at Tequila Ocho, Fortaleza and Del Maguey, plus all the tiny towns in between. Through Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and onto our third boat. This one is a sail boat, not a ferry, and our bikes will be strapped to the deck. Look out for the photos in a few months.

We land in Colombia and we are taking the western coast down all the way to Patagonia. Christmas should be in Colombia and New Years possibly in Ecuador, so if you want to join us for the holidays, that’s where we will be.

Meanwhile, many of you have requested reliable addresses to send us care packages, so check back here for destinations where we are pretty positive we will be staying.

Some starters are:
Around September 1st-5th, Chris’ Mom’s house in Anchorage
205 East Dimond Blvd
Anchorage, AK

Around the beginning of November, my Aunt Jenna’s bed and breakfast in Panajachel, Guatemala (you should stay there too!)
Address coming soon.
