I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the Galapagos, but it is going to be a while. In the beginning of March when we were in La Paz, Bolivia, my best friend Sean died in NY. After a hectic week of trying to figure out what to do, I decided I wanted to fly to NY to be there, and Chris was going to continue on to a port where he could ship the bike back. This plan was made possible because our friend Kalil, who we first met in Ecuador with his buddy Hans, decided to buy my bike and ride it with Chris to Argentina. Kalil’s BMW had blown up just outside La Paz, so he was planning to continue through Argentina on foot, but the timing worked out perfectly for all us and now he and Chris are continuing the trip and I am back in the US, being sad.
I just wanted to update the blog to explain the long gap in posts. Chris has all the photos with him, so I have to wait until he gets back to finish updating. But don’t lose hope. I am actively scribbling away and upon Chris’ return the following chapters will be quickly uploaded:
Galapagos and the boobies!
The return to Ecuador and another postal scandal
Northern Peru and it’s sad filth
Machu Picchu and the Inkan stairs of doom
Lake Titicaca (yup, that’s a real name!)
So stay tuned, and if you haven’t received your Booby postcard, it’s probably not coming, or may show up in two months. Blame the Ecuadorian postal service.
